A unique blindfolded multi-sensory dining performance
Two nights only, October 29th and 30th, 2016: One Trunk Theatre, is teaming up with renowned Winnipeg Chef Ben Kramer and Calgary’s innovative theatre company Ghost River Theatre to create an unique blindfolded sensory dining performance, TASTE WINNIPEG. Audience members will be blindfolded and guided into the venue where they will be seated in groups of 5-6 at a table with one performer. The intimate performance/tasting experience will weave the imaginary with the sensory, tantalizing audience members with a unique story based on the secret tasting menu being specifically crafted for this event by Chef Kramer.
Originally devised for the 2015 Beakerhead in Calgary in collaboration with the River Café and Vertical City Performance, Ghost River Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rose brings this one-of-a-kind experience to the centre of the continent: Winnipeg, home of some of the country’s most inventive chefs, and an exploding, endlessly creative culinary scene.
At the heart of this movement Chef Kramer perches, focused on locally sourced and high quality ingredients. Kramer is a chef behind a number of unique food experiences from farm-to-table dinners situated at the farms themselves, to RAW Almond, Table for 1200 and is the annual caterer for the slew of Winnipeg Folk Fest Artists.
This is a unique one-of-a-kind performance experience, aimed to delight and engage the audience’s sense of taste.
